3.2.0 Release Notes

SAE v3.2.0 Release Notes

With our AWS Migration right around the corner, we’ve been focused primarily on making sure your data will be safely and securely transferred over to your new server with as little downtime as possible. However, along the way we’ve still addressed some features that will provide a better user experience for both you and your bidders. Read on to find out what’s new!

Major Changes:

Easier “1 At a Time” Lot Creation – We’re always looking for ways to help our auctioneers create their auctions faster. Because of this, we’ve made some changes to our “Lot Creation Wizard”. Now when you go to your Manage Items page to create one Lot at a time, you can add your item’s name, description, categories, starting and reserve value, and even it’s photos all in one location. From there, you can keep adding lots, or go into your lot to add more details. This enhancement drastically reduces the number of pages you’ll have to navigate through to make a Lot compared to our old Lot Creator, so it’s a great time saver for an auctioneer on the go!

Redact User Feature – To help our auctioneers comply with new European Union user data regulations (more commonly known as “GPDR compliance”), we’ve added the ability to “Redact” a user. When a user is redacted, personal account information such as:

-First/Last Name

-Username

-Password

-Email Address

-Phone Number

-Street Address

-Payment Information

-Preferred Paddle Number

will all be removed from the user’s account. The account will still remain in the system as an inactive account for record prosperity.  Caution: This process CANNOT be reversed, so be sure you want to do it before you attempt it! “Multiple Emails Received at Once” Fix A few of our auctioneers have reported that when sending a marketing email through the SAE platform, some bidders were receiving the same email multiple times. This issue was determined to be related to the volume of emails being sent at once from our third-party transactional email service. To amend this issue, we have updated how sending emails through the SAE platform works. To learn how the process has changed, check out our How-To Article here: (How to Send a Bulk Message)

Minor Changes:

“Selling Agent Details” Enhancements – To help our auctioneers be as clear as they need to be regarding who is the point of contact for an auction, we’ve made a few enhancements to our “Selling Agent” area. The first enhancement was making the Selling Agent fields available on not only “For Sale” listings, but for all auction listing/catalog types as well.

The second enhancement was to add a new field to the Selling Agent Details for the “Broker Name”. This was suggested due to the fact that the Selling Agent is not necessarily the Broker. The new Selling Agent Details field, as well as how it appears to your bidders, is pictured below:

MaxBid Hover Text – To address some bidder confusion between a regular bid and MaxBids, we’ve changed the “hover hint” text that appears on the MaxBid button when a user leaves their mouse cursor on the button for more than 1 second.

Now, if the bidder is NOT currently the winning bidder on that item, the hover hint text will read: “To place a MaxBid, enter your desired bid amount and then click this button. Counter-bids will automatically be placed on your behalf if someone bids against you”

If a bidder IS currently the winning bidder on an item, the MaxBid hover hint will read: “Congratulations! You’re currently the winning bidder on this item. You can now enter a new Secret MaxBid value to protect your status”

Default Bid Increment Chart Button – Located in the “Advanced” tab of your Auctioneer Dashboard, auctioneers can set your increments to better align with their live auctioneering style, or simply change them if you don’t like our preset increments!  In v3.2.0, we’ve added a “Return to Default” button. This allows you to quickly return your chart to the default bid increment chart if you make a mistake entering your custom increments.
